Does something about her ideas
Fréttablaðið, a largely circulated daily in Iceland, recently interviewed Sóley and talked to her about the founding of Sóley Organics, the theater and her ADHD.

“Now I´m working on a “baby Sóley” product line, which will be ready hopefully before Christmas,” says Sóley. “People that use these kinds of products, naturally also want to use them on their children.”

Sóley founded the company in 2007 after having been an actor in the Reykjavík City Theater for 15 years. “I didn´t see myself growing old in the theater” she says, and emphasizes that she has always had an interest in herbs and the active agents within them.

When she decided to leave acting, Sóley started working on how to create products with her healing herbs without parabens, preservatives or any other chemical agents that can harm man or nature.
“In the beginning I had all kinds of ideas, but decided to start with a business plan for GRÆÐIR, which I have been making for many years – and then the rest just evolved from there,” says Sóley smiling.

“In addition to baby Sóley products, the next big thing on my agenda is the organic certification of the land where I pick my herbs. This process started two years ago, and now the production process also needs to be certified organic. In fact, this organic certification is an amazing quality control, and means so much for products.”

Sóley says the company is constantly evolving and that she is happy it hasn´t grown to fast, as too swift a growth can sometimes steer the company into danger.

When asked about what drives her, she adds: “I probably have a little ADD and then I´m also quite hyper. I do what comes to mind.”
